    SALARY:   $21.00 minimum per hour
    JOB DESCRIPTION:   Supervises all assigned bus drivers and bus assistants. Ensures all routes and trips are completed with available resources. Position is full year with varying daily schedules. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele.
    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:   1. High school or equivalent
    2. Commercial Driver’s License, First Aid and CPR
    3. Must have a valid Colorado driver's license
    4. Must meet insurability requirements of the Colorado School District Self Insurance Pool
    5. Balance figures

    Supervised:

    21. 200 bus drivers (shared responsibility)
    22. 56 bus assistants (shared responsibility





     
    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   1. Supervises, assigns work to and evaluates all assigned bus drivers and bus assistants.
    2. Identifies, evaluates and resolves problems with drivers, students, parents, schools, administration and community.
    3. Administers the student management program. Meets with parents, schools, students, and administers consequences at appropriate level. Supervises driver helpers for student management program.
    4. Monitors all aspects of driver and assistant performance, including spot checking for pre-trips and post-trips, appropriate use of specialized equipment, student management, handling of the bus, etc.
    5. Represents the district at meetings, conferences, and seminars in a professional manner. Meets with personnel from other transportation departments within the state for problem solving, coordination, and implementation of new rules and regulations. Attends in-district driver meetings at schools, represents driver/assistant interests and concerns.
    6. Maintains ongoing two-way radio and telephone communication with transportation, administrative and school personnel as required.
    7. Implements emergency procedures (e.g. snow days, accidents, early school closure, emergency closures).
    8. Uses specialized software programs to compile departmental forms, detailed maps, graphics and other operational paperwork.
    9. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
     
    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:   3 to 5 years of transportation experience and/or specialized classes beyond high school
    Management or supervision experience preferred
